Rita Guerra at the COOPERHATE Opening European Conference

Researcher Rita Guerra gave a talk at the Opening European Conference of the COOPERHATE Project – “Multidisciplinary cooperation approach to prevent and counter hate crime and hate speech”, which took place at Iscte (Lisbon, Portugal) last October 23 and 24.

The event, co-funded by the European Union, brought together representatives of European institutions, civil society organisations, and international experts to discuss innovative multidisciplinary approaches to preventing and addressing hate crime and hate speech through cooperation, training, and awareness-raising. Rita Guerra’s talk was titled “O que (não) sabemos sobre o ódio em Portugal: Resultados, desafios e oportunidades do projecto kNOwHATE” [What we (don’t) know about hate in Portugal: Results, challenges, and opportunities from the kNOwHATE project] and focused on this project’s results and impacts. Rita is part of the COOPERHATE project representing CIS-Iscte as a partner.

COOPERHATE is a EU funded project through the CERV programme coordinated by APAV – Associação Portuguesa de Apoio a Vítima. Partners include BSAFE Lab of the University of Beira Interior, Centre for Psychological Research and Social Intervention of the University Institute of Lisbon (CIS-Iscte), IPS_Innovative Prison Systems, SOS Racismo, ILGA Portugal, UREP – Union of Refugees in Portugal, Lisbon Municipal Police, Tice.pt – National Portuguese ICT Cluster and BLUELINE – Management and Marketing Strategies.
